NJ Transit operates an extensive bus network of intra and interstate routes throughout New Jersey and into New York.  Hoboken is served by many lines including the 126 to the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

With frequent service, the recently completed Hudson-Bergen Light Rail currently ties Hoboken to Weehawken, Union City, and North Bergen to the north.  To the south you can reach Jersey City and Bayonne.  Future expansion plans currently being studied include an extension to Tenalfy in Bergen County.

New Jersey Transit operates 12 commuter rail lines with 163 stations providing extensive service to northern and central New Jersey.  From Hoboken Terminal you can reach Newark Penn Station, Penn Station in Manhattan, or virtually anywhere in norther or central New Jersey directly, or via a transfer at Secaucus Junction.

With two convenient Hoboken locations, one at Hoboken Terminal and one at 14th St, NY Waterway touts itself as “The Civilized Commute”.  Ferrying you to Pier 11 and The World Financial Center in Downtown Manhattan and 38th St in Midtown, NY Waterway provides connecting shuttle bus service on both the New Jersey and New York Side.
