As anyone who lives in or visits Hoboken knows, parking can sometimes be a bit of a challege in our mile square city. All Hoboken residents who wish to park on the street are required to obtain a Residential Parking Permit for their vehicle. Requirements for Residential Parking Permits are as follows: a valid New Jersey Driver's License reflecting a Hoboken address and a valid lease, title, or tax bill for a residential Hoboken address. In the case of a vehicle leased and used by a Hoboken resident, a copy of the automobile lease reflecting the applicant's address in Hoboken shall be presented in addition to the requirements listed above, permit fees vary.


Resident, visitor, business and temporary permits can be obtained from The Hoboken Parking Utility located at 101 First Street, in the basement of City Hall. The Parking Utilities hours are 8:30am to 9:30pm Monday to Friday. After 4:00pm daily and on Saturdays, the Parking Utility can be accessed via the 108 Newark Street entrance. To help alleviate the parking crunch The Hoboken Parking Utility operates multiple parking lots throughout town with hourly, daily, and monthly parking rates.

LOT B is located on 2nd Street between River and Hudson
LOT D is located on Hudson Street between 2nd and 3rd
LOT G is located on Hudson Street between 3rd and 4th
Midtown Garage is located on 4th Street between Clinton and Grand
916 Automated Parking Facility is located on Garden Street between 9th and 10th*
Lot #1 is located on Willow Street on the corner of 11th*
Lot #2 is located on
Willow Steet and 2nd*

In addition to parking lots run by the Hoboken Parking Utility there are many private lots throughout town.
